Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Mediator Accreditation Rules (Hong Kong Special Administrative Region) officially promulgated
(28 March 2024)

The Working Group on the Greater Bay Area Mediation Platform, comprising representatives from legal departments of Guangdong Province, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (the "HKSAR") and the Macao Special Administrative Region, has promulgated the local accreditation rules for accreditation of GBA mediators of the three places on 28 March 2024.

For the accreditation of GBA Mediators through the HKSAR, the Department of Justice of Hong Kong has formulated and published the "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Mediator Accreditation Rules (Hong Kong Special Administrative Region)". The GBA Mediator Training Course of Hong Kong is tentatively scheduled for the third quarter of 2024.

on or before 31 December 2024. There is no late charge.

Phishing Email purporting to be issued by HKMAAL
(10 August 2023)

HKMAAL attention was drawn to a phishing email ("Email”) dated 10 August 2023 sent from the email account "noreply@hkmaal.org.hk".

The Email invited the recipients to click on a dropbox link for a PDF file purportedly relating to the recipient's record of CPD Points in the immediate past membership year, as well as to matters regarding membership renewal.

The Email was NOT circulated by HKMAAL. The link may be malicious and is unsafe to click on. 

"noreply@hkmaal.org.hk" is never an email address used by HKMAAL.

HKMAAL has reported the incidence to the Hong Kong Police Force.

Mediation is a voluntary, confidential and private dispute resolution process in which a neutral person, the mediator, helps the parties to reach their own negotiated settlement agreement.
